DAY 1, ARRIVAL - ANTANANARIVO

DAY 2, ANTANANARIVO: downtown & historical city tour of Antananarivo. Visit of the queen’s palace. Sundowners.
In the morning, visit the botanical and zoological garden of Tsimbazaza. In the afternoon, discover Antananarivo, its colourful life, its history and architecture. We will walk through the busy and vibrant streets of the capital. We will start in the lower city, walk through the avenue of Independence, and visit the Analakely market and the famous stairs of Antananarivo to reach the business centre of the capital.We continue our ascent and you will be introduced to the architecture and urbanism of the capital of Madagascar from the Old City. We visit the Queen’s Palace before ending the day with a beautiful sundowner overlooking the city with some wine and foiegras.Accommodation on half-board basis.
DAY 3, ANTANANARIVO – MORONDAVA (By domestic Flight)
Breakfast at hotel. Based on the domestic flight schedule, transfer to the airport and take your flight to Morondava. Once we land, we would do a city tour and visit the Vezo fishermen village of Betania. The Vezo are semi-nomadic coastal people of southern Madagascar that have become accustomed to live from sea fishing. Enjoy the beach of the Mozambique Channel while watching the traditional sailing boats passing.Accommodation on half boardbasis in your hotel for 2 nights.HOTEL : Good hotels : Palissandre Cote Ouest Mid-range hotels :Baobab Café, Le Renala au Sable d’Or.
DAY 4, MORONDAVA: forest & alley of baobabs
We leave Morondava early to have a pass through the alley of baobabs and take advantage of the sunrise light. We head to the Kirindy reserve, home of the Fosa, the largest mammal carnivore in Madagascar. After spending some time in the Kirindy forest in the morning, we leave the park and we enter the world famous alley of Baobabs before sunset, continuing to Morondava.
DAY 5, MORONDAVA – ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE (domestic flight & road transfer)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport of Morondava and take a morning flight to Antananarivo. Meet at the airport and drive straight to the Eastern part of the island.We reach the Andasibe National Park by the end of the day and we do our first visit of the park that same evening to discover some nocturnal animals.Accommodation on bed and Breakfast basis in hotel for 2 nights.HOTELS : GoodHotel : Andasibe Hotel, VakonaForest Lodge,Sahatandra Mid-rangeHotel : Feon’ny ala, Analamazaotra Hotel
DAY 6, ANDASIBE : Mantadia National Park
The forest of the AndasibeMantadia Park is home to 108 species of birds, 14 species of lemurs, 51 species, and 84 species of amphibians.At 7:00am, we reach the entrance of the Andasibe-Mantadia National park. We will hike in the rain forest to track lemurs and at the same time see various species of plants, trees, insects and reptiles. We will seek the largest lemur of Madagascar: the famous “Indri Indri” also known as “Babakoto” in Malagasy. This lemur is endemic to the site and is its icon.Back to the hotel. DAY 7, ANDASIBE – ANTANANARIVO (150KM, +/- 4HOURS)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit of the Analamazaotra national park to spot the famous Indri Indri and other animalspecies.In the afternoon, drive back to Antananarivo. En route we will stop in Marozevo at thePeyreras reserve which is known for its lemurs and reptiles. In that reserve, we will see the famous Sifaka lemur and also various chameleons, snakes, lizards and frogs of different sizes and colors. We will spend a couple of hours in that reserve during which you may observe how the chameleons capture their prey with their long tongue.Continue for a late arrivalin your hotel. DAY 8, ANTANANARIVO – OUT : Visit of royal citadel of Ambohimanga, handcraft markets of Antananarivo& international departure
We will visit the royal citadel of Ambohimanga, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to learn about the history of the Madagascar kingdom and the rich culture of this island.Lunch at Tana Kitchen where you will have the opportunity to taste, cook and learn Malagasy meal before you leave the country. In the afternoon, visit the handcraft market for some last shopping. Day use in your hotel. You will be transferred to the airport to take your international flight or any connection to other parts of Madagascar.HOTEL: Pavillon de l’Emyrne or equivalent
